Overview |
Description |
Yttrium alumina (YAG) belongs to a group of specially developed materials that have been used in quantum electronics devices and laser technology since the mid-20th century. Yttrium alumina is a Y3Al2(AlO4)3 oxide with the cubic crystal structure of natural garnet. Therefore, YAG is only known as a synthetic garnet. YAG is harder and denser than natural garnet, and has high dispersion and refractive index. |
