Protein L - 10nm gold conjugate is a type of bioconjugate that consists of 10 nm gold nanoparticles functionalized with Protein L molecules. Protein L is a bacterial protein that has a high affinity for immunoglobulin light chains, particularly kappa light chains. It binds to IgG, IgM, IgA, IgE, and IgD, as well as single-chain antibody scFv fragments and Fab fragments. Compared to Protein A and Protein G, Protein L binds more broadly to antibodies of various origins and subclasses, including human, mouse, rat, rabbit, and chicken, but does not bind to immunoglobulins of bovine, goat, or sheep origin. By conjugating Protein L to gold nanoparticles, researchers can create a versatile tool for various applications in biological research and diagnostics.

Applications

Protein L - 10nm gold conjugate can be used in various applications such as immunohistochemistry, immunoblotting, lateral flow analysis, immunoprecipitation, flow cytometry, light microscopy, and electron microscopy applications. It can be used to specifically capture and detect immunoglobulin light chains in biological samples, making it useful tool for studying immune responses, protein-protein interactions, and disease biomarkers. Additionally, since it does not bind goat or bovine IgG, this makes it ideal for the specific detection of human and mouse antibodies produced in tissue culture media containing fetal bovine serum (FBS).

Storage

• Store undiluted in storage buffer at 2-8 °C. Stable for 4 months if stored as specified.
