Overview of Cadmium Selenide/Zinc Sulfide Quantum Dots (Ligand: Carboxyl)
Description
Storage
Cadmium Selenide/Zinc Sulfide (CdSe/ZnS) core/shell quantum dots have CdSe as the core, which can provide the desired emission wavelength, and ZnS as the shell, which helps protect and stabilize the unique optical properties of the CdSe core from potentially damaging environments, while reducing surface trap states and improving performance. Although they are dispersed in water, these core/shell quantum dots exhibit stable and bright emission. Our CdSe/ZnS quantum dots exhibit spectra emission ranges from 450 nm to 650 nm wavelengths and are functionalized with carboxyl ligands (water soluble). They have the novel property of having an extremely narrow emission spectrum (Gaussian Distribution) that is directly proportional to the size of the particle. The smaller the particle, the more its emission is blue shifted and conversely the larger the particle, the more its emission is red shifted. These fluorescent quantum dots are ideal for applications in fields such as nanoelectronics and optoelectronics, or for further functionalization with various polymers and ligands.
