Description

Our water-soluble PbS/CdS core/shell QDs have higher quantum yields (brighter) and higher wavelength stability relative to commercially available core-only PbS QDs. The surface of these quantum dots is coated with a hydrophilic surfactant to achieve dispersion in water. PbS/CdS quantum dots exhibit bright broadband visible/near-infrared upconversion emission with decay lifetimes in the hundreds of nanoseconds. These properties make the current PbS/CdS core-shell quantum dots a promising candidate for biomedical fluorescence imaging.
